The person beside you

Climbing stories often give the route top billing. This proposed story would begin with the partnership: who showed up, how they talked, and what they learned about sharing a day outside.

We are looking for a real account from a contributor. No partnership, ascent or climbing experience is being claimed here.

What to bring

A specific moment is more useful than a list of accomplishments. Describe a conversation, a change of plan or a small act of patience. Include the context a reader needs to understand it.

Get permission from people whose personal experiences you include. Photographs should be yours to license and accurately captioned. This is a storytelling brief, not climbing instruction.

Where the story goes

The ending might be a route completed, a decision to stop or simply a better understanding of your partner. We do not need a triumphant finish.

Use the contribution worksheet to develop your idea. The prototype does not collect submissions.

What’s your story?

A few honest details from your own time outdoors can be a starting point.
